Overview of Wilsons Wills
Wilson’s Wills was founded by Jeremy Wilson, who has 35 years’ experience as an advisor on wills, powers of attorney, trusts, tax and care planning.
Previously, Jeremy served as partner and head of a successful private client department in a regional law firm. Jeremy has now retired as an advisor to become a Will Writer, offering similar high-quality services to people in Bournemouth.
Why a Properly Drafted Will Matters
A will does more than decide who inherits your assets. It can also:
Protect assets against long-term care costs
Correct drafting can safeguard a significant portion of your estate if a surviving spouse later needs residential or nursing care. Additional strategies can help protect your home and other capital. See Long Term Care Planning.
Support vulnerable or dependent family members
Learning difficulties: A trust, set up during life or via your will, can protect assets and avoid Court of Protection involvement.
Means-tested benefits: A trust ensures a beneficiary can still inherit without losing their benefits.
Protect inheritances during family difficulties
Divorce: A will trust can safeguard a child’s inheritance from claims by an ex-partner if you pass away before financial matters are resolved.
Blended families: A will can protect your spouse or partner while ensuring your own children ultimately inherit.
Other essential planning
Lasting Powers of Attorney for Finance and Welfare should be considered alongside your will.
